Disney World Trash Cans Are FINALLY Getting The Respect They Deserve

Trash cans in Disney World are pretty iconic.

Meet Pinelope

Probably not a sentence you expected to read today, but hey, it’s true! The legend of Disney trash cans in the parks is that Walt paid meticulous attention to guests’ behavior, and found that trash and waste would be improperly done away with if a trash can wasn’t in sight. Therefore, trash cans are placed about every 30 feet in the parks, and it’s rare you’re in any area where you can’t see one in at least one direction. We’ve also used many a trash can to rest our food on at EPCOT festivals in place of tables, so we honestly owe a lot to them. If you’re someone who has a soft spot in their heart for them, we’ve got awesome news — there’s a new souvenir that highlights your love for Disney trash cans AND candy!

At six different merchandise locations in Disney World, you can purchase the new Bulk Candy Containers in the shape of Disney World trash cans!

These are modeled after the iconic trash cans you’ll find on Main Street, U.S.A. — they’re even complete with the swinging door on both sides! You’ll need to purchase at least a 1/2 pound of candy to be “eligible” for one of the containers. You’ll want to grab the candy and the container separate from each other (and there’s a limit of two containers per guest, per transaction), then you can put the candy inside after you’ve checked out.

These will launch later in May, so be on the lookout! You’ll be able to find them at the following locations, while supplies last:

  • Magic Kingdom Park: Main Street Confectionery
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Zuri’s Sweets Shop
  • Disney’s BoardWalk Inn: Screen Door General Store
  • The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort: Meadow Trading Post
  • Disney Springs: Goofy’s Candy Company and Disney’s Candy Cauldron
