If you’ve been scrolling through Epic Universe TikTok or lurking in ride queues doing some casual people-watching as we do, you’ve probably noticed a trend. No, not matching family shirts. Shoes. Very specific shoes.

Because here’s the thing about Universal’s newest park: it’s massive. You’re easily clocking 20,000+ steps without even trying. And after a full day bouncing between SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, Dark Universe, and everything in between, your feet will absolutely let you know if you made a bad choice. So let’s talk about the four pairs of shoes we’re seeing everywhere at Epic Universe right now.
First up, the HOKA Women’s Clifton 10.

The Clifton has been a go-to for runners for a decade now, and honestly, it’s not hard to see why park-goers are obsessed. The latest version bumps up the heel-to-toe drop by 3mm, which translates to a noticeably more cushioned, plush feel underfoot (exactly what you want after your fifth hour of walking). The breathable jacquard upper keeps things from getting too stuffy, and the double-lace lock means you’re not going to be stopping every hour to deal with tongue migration. It’s a seriously solid choice.
Next up, let’s talk about the Chaco Women’s Z/2 Classic Sandals.

Don’t sleep on sandals. The Chaco Z/2 has been a staple for outdoor adventurers for over 30 years, and it’s earned every bit of that reputation. With just eight adjustable parts, these sandals conform to your feet in a way that most shoes simply don’t. The podiatrist-approved footbed does a lot of the heavy lifting, and the updated ChacoGrip outsole means you’re not going to be slipping around, no matter what terrain you’re navigating. If you’re someone who runs hot and can’t stand the idea of a closed-toe shoe all day, these are your answer.
Now, meet the Brooks Women’s Ghost 17.

The Ghost series has a cult following, and the 17th iteration honestly might be the best version yet. Brooks added extra cushioning in both the heel and forefoot, so those final miles of the day feel way less brutal than they used to. The air mesh upper keeps your feet breathing, the flex grooves in the midsole make for incredibly smooth transitions while you’re walking, and the whole thing is built with recycled materials, which is a nice bonus. Whether you’re a runner or just a serious walker, this one’s got you covered.
Last but definitely not least, the New Balance 530.

Here’s the thing about the 530: it’s doing double duty. It’s got that retro running shoe look that’s been everywhere lately, but it’s also genuinely comfortable enough to handle a full park day thanks to ABZORB cushioning underfoot. If you want something that looks cute in your pre-park photos AND doesn’t destroy your feet by 3 PM, this is the move. It’s unisex, too, so everyone can get in on this one.
