NEWS: Disney Announces OPENING DATE for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets

The time has come to say goodbye to Aerosmith and welcome The Muppets to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Disney just announced that this new iteration of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will officially be opening on May 26th!!!!

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith closed in spring 2026 to be rethemed as Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. And now we know when we will be able to jam out to The Electric Mayhem in our super stretch limo.

First announced back in November 2024, the rethemed coaster will feature a new story as The Electric Mayhem are set to headline their biggest Hollywood concert ever. Animal, Dr. Teeth, and the rest of the group are getting ready to rock…but nobody can find them!

The overall concept of the ride will remain similar, but it will now feature The Muppets. We will get to tour the legendary G-Force Records studio, now under new management. Scooter’s uncle, real estate tycoon and owner of the Muppet Theatre, J.P. Grosse, has taken over the studio.

Disney has also announced that the ride will feature a first-of-its-kind Muppet Animatronic! While it is bittersweet, as Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith will always hold a special place in our hearts, we can’t wait to see what happens when The Muppets take over.
