It’s time to play the music, it’s time to light the lights!

It’s been a morning of news for Disney World, and the headliner is that Disney just announced the opening timeline for the Muppets Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios. Let’s take a look at the details!

Summer 2026 is going to be a summer of mayhem…Electric Mayhem! Why? Well, Disney has just announced that the Muppets will have officially taken over the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at that time!

It’s been a process for the beloved group of characters since the announcement of the new Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring The Muppets in November 2024, and then the closure of Muppets Courtyard.

Disney also shared that a first of it’s kind Muppet Animatronic will be a part of the attraction — WHAT?! Scooter and the penguin audio engineers will be working hard to get Electric Mayhem to make it on time to their concert. Maybe they’ll be the ones making it a “super stretch”.

This was a very cool announcement, as this is the first time Scooter has ever been an audio animatronic, and he may not be the only one in the attraction. A little Disney tease?! We won’t know more about that until later, so we’ll be waiting eagerly.

The concept of the ride is pretty similar, as we will be getting a VIP tour of G-Force Records, but it is now under new management by The Muppets! We’ve also been told that G-Force Records has a new, unique look, as Scooter’s uncle, real estate tycoon and owner of the Muppet Theatre, J.P. Grosse, has taken over. Check out this new poster Disney dropped with the summer 2026 opening timeline announcement!

Ahhh, we can’t wait to try out this new and exciting attraction next year in the summer — like seriously! Disney hasn’t announced when Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will close for the retheme, but we expect that announcement will be coming soon.
