PHOTOS: Self-Serve Drink Stations Are BACK in Disney World

When Walt Disney World reopened last year after temporarily closing due to the ongoing health crisis, they implemented additional health and safety measures throughout the parks and resorts.

This includes face mask and social distancing requirements, the introduction of Mobile Ordering for Quick Service restaurants, routine cleaning of the rides, and more. But, as conditions have changed throughout the past year, Disney has continued to alter their operations, and there is a big change to how guests dine at Quick Service restaurants in Disney World Resort hotels!

When we stopped over at the Roaring Fork in Disney’s Fort Wilderness Lodge this morning, we noticed that they have brought back self-serve drink stations. So, now guests can take their cup and fill their own drinks at the station.

Previously, a Cast Member was at the drink station filling drinks for guests, but that has gone away as of today.

At the self-serve stations, you’ll find tea packets, coffee creamers and sugar, and other things you might need when preparing your drink out for grabs.

As you make your way through the newly reopened beverage stations, you’ll want to pay attention to the arrows on the ground, as these are directing guests to flow one way through the beverage station.

Other Disney World Resorts have reportedly reopened their self-serve beverage stations as well, so you may find this change the next time you stay at a Disney hotel. Though this isn’t the first self-serve drink station that we’ve seen Disney bring back in Disney World — at Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park, they have been allowing guests to fill (and refill) their own beverages and mugs at the drink stations since reopening.

Disney has not released updated information on the resort’s health and safety measures but we will continue to keep an eye out for developments at other Disney World hotels. As always, stay tuned for more Disney news and updates!
