The Ultimate Guide to Mobile Order in Disney World Right Now

The Disney Parks, like most of the world, look a little different right now. Disney has had to implement many new health and safety procedures in order for guests to return to the parks.

Mobile Order

One of the new procedures is the widespread use of Mobile Order. While this feature is something we used to request just to make ordering food a little easier and more efficient at Walt Disney World, it is now something you will pretty much need if you’re looking to buy Quick Service food in the Parks.

Mobile Order Basics

Mobile Order allows guests to order food from select Quick Service locations on their phones. Guests will need to download the My Disney Experience app in order to access Mobile Order.

Mobile Order System Update

To order, first click the plus button at the bottom of the My Disney Experience app, then tap Order Food. After this, select your desired dining location.

Once you select your dining location, choose an arrival time window (this part is new for Walt Disney World Mobile Order-ers), then you’ll select which food you’d like to order. You can customize your order to an extent (though diners with allergies may want to go inside the restaurant to order with a cast member). Once you check out, you will pay using a Disney gift card, reward card, or credit/debit card. You can also enter a promotion or discount code.

Once your food is ready, the app will let you know. There is even a little countdown feature (kind of like when you order pizza) on the app.

Mobile Order Updates for Reopening

While Mobile Order has been an option for quite some time, it has recently become an essential part of a Disney World vacation. This is because Cast Members are STRONGLY advising that guests use Mobile Order to order food.

In many locations, Cast Members will require guests to remain outside until their Mobile  Order is ready. They are making exceptions for those paying with cash or if a diner has an allergy. Otherwise, they are really encouraging guests to order from their phones to reduce guests waiting in lines inside restaurants. This also helps Disney as they encourage guests to use cashless payments.

Mobile Order Tips

Mobile Order has been a flexible option for years and still is, even though it’s being used on a wider scale. Since it’s available on your phone, you can order while waiting in line, from your hotel room, or on a bus when heading back to your Resort. This can ultimately save you time.

Note: We will warn you that sometimes Mobile Order lags a bit and doesn’t accurately show ALL of the meal options.

One surprising benefit to using Mobile Order is that select Mobile Order locations actually have secret menus and things you’ll only find by ordering this way. So be on the lookout for some unique goodies.

Mobile Order Locations

While Disney is often adding new locations to Mobile Order, not every single Quick Service, counter, kiosk, or cart location has the feature. It’s also important to remember that not every Quick Service location is open in the Parks right now, so options are a bit more limited than usual.

  1. Since they are “encouraging” everyone to use mobile order, they should start applying AP and DVC discounts to mobile orders.

  2. With the payment options listed for mobile order, it appears that even with a credit card attached to your magic band you still have to carry a credit/debit card to use? Why isn’t there an option to charge it to your existing account? Curious.
