New this year at the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival is an innovative, family-friendly, hands-on activity — making sushi… out of candy!
This new event, which is led by a Disney Chef teaching guests how to make their own Candy Sushi creations, is sponsored by Skittles candy, through a partnership with Adventures by Disney.

The fun starts twice daily at 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. at Sunshine Seasons in the Land Pavilion. Guests are provided with their own paper Food and Wine Festival chef’s toque, which makes a great souvenir, as well as all the materials needed to make several different candy sushi treats, such as Candy ForYa (a pun on California) Roll, Dynamite Twix Roll and Taste the Rainbow Roll.
Most of the treats start with a basic thin layer of rice krispy treat, which is then rolled with an assortment of familiar candies, such as Twix, Skittles, M&M Minis, gummy fish, and fruit leather.
The best part is that once you’re done, you end up with some ever-so-pretty sugary-sweet results that you can eat!
Space for the Candy Sushi-Making experience is limited, so be sure to register in advance. You can sign up online at www.tasteepcot.com. The activity is free, but be prepared — registration requires a credit card guarantee, and just like if you’re a no-show to an advanced dining reservation, there will be a no-show charge. Also remember that you will need admission into Epcot to participate.
Have you made candy sushi yet? Leave a rating or a review in our Rate and Review section!
