Universal Orlando is one of the leading theme parks in Central Florida alongside Disney World, but with every theme park comes its problems.

Whether it be attraction closures due to weather, construction around the theme parks, or guests asking for directions to somewhere that doesn’t exist in the park, problems always tend to pop up, and we’re here to talk about SIX of them today.
Asking Questions About The Wrong Theme Park
We’ve seen it in both theme parks — guests at Universal Orlando asking questions about Disney World and vice versa. Things like “where’s the monorail” and “can you point me in the direction of Space Mountain” have been asked WAY too many times in a Universal theme park. To avoid the embarrassment, be sure to read up on the theme parks you’re attending! Lucky for you, we have everything you need to know about Universal Orlando!

5 Things We’re Begging You to Quit Bringing to Universal
Wearing The Competitor’s Clothing
Sticking to the same topic, guests tend to wear Disney-inspired clothing to Universal, even though they are two VERY different companies. We have a solution for you, so you can stay on theme at every park you go to! Check out our Amazon storefront that has everything you’ll need for a perfect Universal park day, including themed shirts, comfortable shoes, portable chargers, and more!

Still No Annual Passes At Epic Universe
Epic Universe opened last May, and over a year later, there are still no annual passes for this theme park. As of this writing, only date-based tickets are available for purchase. For frequent visitors, these prices could add up, causing them to go less and visit the other theme parks included with their annual pass. Universal has said that more details will be released, but nothing has been announced as of yet.

But if you’re an Annual Passholder looking to save, Universal is currently offering up to 40% off Epic Universe 1-Day add-on tickets on select dates for Annual Passholders!

Islands of Adventure Construction
What comes with every theme park that isn’t themed food, iconic attractions, and long wait times? Change and construction — and that’s exactly what’s happening at The Lost Continent at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. With construction walls up and many locations closed, guests who didn’t know about this problem beforehand might be surprised. We recommend making a plan around this area of the park, so you don’t get stuck between the crowd and the construction walls.

The only places that remain open in The Lost Continent are:
- Fire Eaters Grill
- Mythos Restaurant
- The How to Train Your Dragon Store
- Health Services

Major Ride Closures At Epic Universe During Severe Weather
Another problem with Universal’s newest Orlando theme park is the number of rides that close when severe weather occurs. Epic Universe is home to 11 attractions, and a whopping EIGHT are outdoors, which means when a storm approaches, those eight attractions temporarily close. This leaves guests running to and from the only three that are open, causing long lines and even further delays.

The three attractions that remain open during severe weather include:
- Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment
- Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry
- Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge

The Bag Problem
If you’re bringing a bag to any of the Universal Orlando parks, you may want to bring a small one since not all bags are allowed on certain attractions. Some of the bigger attractions — like The Incredible Hulk Coaster at Islands of Adventure and Revenge of the Mummy at Universal Studios — have small lockers to store your belongings in while you ride. Another option is to leave your bag in a locker at the front of the park for an additional cost.

So, the next time you find yourself at Universal Orlando, remember these ongoing problems to have a smooth and stress-free vacation without being on the outside! And follow us at AllEars for more Universal news, updates, tips, and tricks!
