We Just Got A Look At Magic Kingdom’s NEW Ferryboat!

There are a few different ways to get to Magic Kingdom in Disney World, but one of the most popular is by stopping at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) first.

The Ferry at Magic Kingdom

Unless you’re taking a Disney World bus from another park or Disney World hotel, you’ll have to stop by the TTC to make your way to the park. You have a choice between taking the Monorail or the Ferry. It was recently announced that Magic Kingdom would be getting a new Ferry, bringing the total amount of Ferryboat’s available to four, and we’ve just gotten a look at how construction is going!

Thanks to our friend @bioreconstruct, we have an aerial look at how progress on the new Ferry is coming along! The new boat is currently in the service marina that’s north of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, away from guest view.

We know that this new 120-foot-long, 600-passenger boat will begin service in 2027, and will be named after Meg Gilbert Crofton, a Disney Legend who held many titles over the years, but was Walt Disney World’s fourth president from 2006 to 2013. The other three Magic Kingdom ferries are named after Admiral Joe Fowler, General Joe Potter, and  Richard F. Irvine.

Based on the photos seen, it appears like the bottom part of the ferry is coming along well, and we can see the two open portions in the middle where stairs will be added between the bottom and top decks.

Right at the same marina, though, we also got a chance to see the Liberty Belle, which used to travel around Rivers of America in Frontierland before Tom Sawyer Island closed to make way for Piston Peak. It’s unclear what exactly will happen to the boat, but it’s good to know that it’s still in one piece for now!
