We’re just one week away from one of our favorite times of the year in Disney World, which also means that Magic Kingdom is about to change pretty drastically!

When it comes to holidays in Disney World, you’ll often notice that while other parks participate, Magic Kingdom is the park that goes full out, especially along Main Street, U.S.A. That’s very much true for Halloween, and we’re just a week away from the WHOLE park jumping in to celebrate the spooky season.
We’re exactly a week away from the Halloween season kicking off in Magic Kingdom with Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! The party kicks off August 7th and takes place on select nights through October 31st. Tickets range from $119 plus tax and rise to $199 plus tax, and, in our eyes, it’s a great way to celebrate the season.

This also means that we’ll start to see Halloween decor hit the parks very soon, so if your trip happens to be before August 7th, or you don’t have tickets for the party, don’t worry — you may be able to start seeing decorations soon. If you’re traveling to Magic Kingdom on a party night but aren’t staying for the actual event (which does require a separate ticket), it’s important to remember that the park will close early at 6 PM for non-party guests! Often, people choose to visit other parks that don’t close early on party nights, so if you want to see Magic Kingdom with lower crowds all day, a party day may be a great time to visit.

If you DO have a party ticket, you can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4 PM to check out what the park has to offer before the party begins at 7 PM. We recommend taking photos in your costumes and/or outfits while it’s still daylight, riding a few attractions that have lower waits already, and grabbing a solid meal — not all restaurants are open during the party, and you may not want to snack on sweet treats all night!
