CONTROVERSIAL Universal Ride Permanently Closes In 4 Weeks

There are so many great rides at Universal Studios Florida, including Revenge of the Mummy, Transformers: The Ride 3D, and Fast and Furious: Supercharged.

But one of our favorite attractions at Universal Studios Florida is closing soon. Even though “it’s never goodbye” in the Fast & Furious universe, it really is goodbye for Fast and Furious: Supercharged!

Universal just announced that Fast and Furious: Supercharged is officially closing at Universal Studios Florida on August 17th, 2026. This means your last day to ride is on August 16th! Back in January, Universal announced the poorly-rated ride would permanently close in 2027. Universal has not yet announced what will replace Fast and Furious: Supercharged or why the closing timeline was moved up.

Universal also announced in January that a brand-new Fast & Furious-themed roller coaster was hitting Universal Orlando at the former site of Rip Ride Rockit. Fast & Furious Hollywood Drift puts riders in the driver’s seat for 360-degree drifting with jaw-dropping maneuvers, notably a 170-foot vertical spike that will shoot guests nearly 17 stories in the air.

Universal has recreated four iconic cars from the films that you can hop on and ride. These cars spin 360 degrees and go up to 72 mph. If you can’t wait to ride Fast and Furious Hollywood Drift yourself, then you can head to Universal Studios Hollywood to check out the ride, which is the park’s first-ever high-speed coaster.
