A ‘Home Alone’ Sequel Might Be Coming Soon

Here at AllEars, we love the Home Alone movies. They’re a Christmas classic, and we watch them every December on Disney+, which is why this news from Parade has us screaming like Kevin!

A Disney insider just revealed that Macaulay Culkin is in talks for a Home Alone reboot!

Entertainment journalist Matt Belloni recently shared some insider info on his ‘The Town’ podcast, saying, “I have some intel that I know they really wanted to happen. I got a tip the other day that there was a very interesting sighting on the Disney lot. Macaulay Culkin was there, and he’s talked about having an idea for a new Home Alone, and Disney is like salivating.”

He also shared this unconfirmed tidbit: “They’re offering him another movie, like he could do his own passion project if he would also do another Home Alone and they have a good idea. I’ve talked to people who have heard it, and it’s a really good idea for a Home Alone reboot with Macaulay Culkin.”

“I had this idea,” Culkin told Variety about his concept for a new sequel back in 2025. “I’m either a widower or a divorcee. I’m raising a kid and all that stuff. I’m working really hard, and I’m not really paying enough attention, and the kid is getting miffed at me, and then I get locked out. He won’t let me in, and he’s the one setting traps for me. The house is some sort of metaphor for our relationship,” he added. Kevin has to “get let back into [his] son’s heart’ kind of deal.”

“It’s in the early stages, very early. It’s just an idea and an almost green light from Disney,” an anonymous Disney insider told PEOPLE Magazine. “Disney loved Macaulay’s idea, and everyone wants to see this happen.”

Neither Macaulay Culkin nor Disney has confirmed the reported meeting or a reboot, but we’ll be sure to update you if anything official comes out.
