One of EPCOT’s Most Crowded Rides Will CLOSE Next Week for Major Changes

This is your reminder to ride Frozen Ever After while you still can.

Frozen Ever After

Frozen Ever After will be closing soon for refurbishment, and it’s the kind of detail that’s much easier to handle when you know about it in advance. Whether it’s a must-ride or just a nice bonus, here’s how this closure could affect your EPCOT plans.

If Frozen Ever After is on your must-do list for an upcoming EPCOT visit, this is your friendly reminder to plan accordingly, because the popular Norway Pavilion attraction will be closing soon for a scheduled refurbishment!

Disney has shared that this refurbishment will serve as the downtime needed to make improvements to the ride’s popular characters, like Elsa, Anna, and Kristoff, where they will undergo a less bulky and smoother upgrade to their featured animatronics throughout the ride.

Refurbishments like this are a normal part of keeping attractions running smoothly and looking their best. And with more recent iterations of similar rides in multiple Disney parks, their initial look and feel, which were at one time revolutionary, could use some “fixer upper”-ing to make them blend seamlessly with the other rides you’ll find around the world.

That being said, you only have until January 25th to get your final ride in before the ride will close. It is set to open sometime in February, so while it won’t be a super lengthy closure, there is still no exact reopening date. Planning to ride on or shortly after January 26th could be a disappointing mistake!

Frozen Ever After

For many families, Frozen Ever After is a non-negotiable stop. With its gentle boat ride, familiar music, and beloved characters, it’s especially popular with younger and first-time visitors. Because of that, a closure can have a noticeable impact on touring plans (particularly if your trip is coming up soon).

If you’re visiting EPCOT before the closure begins, this is the perfect time to prioritize riding it. Consider booking it early in the day, booking a Lightning Lane if available, or heading there at rope drop when wait times are typically lowest. Once the attraction closes, there will be no alternate Frozen-themed ride experience in EPCOT during the refurbishment period.

That being said, you can still meet Anna and Elsa in this pavilion! The meet and greet is known for getting some longer lines, but it’s worth it if you want to get your Frozen fix.

The wait time changes a LOT here!

If your trip falls during the closure, don’t panic! EPCOT still offers plenty of fantastic attractions nearby, from Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure to Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and more. But knowing this ahead of time gives you the chance to adjust expectations and build a smoother touring plan.

Frozen Ever After

Refurbishments may be inconvenient in the moment, but they’re part of what keeps Disney attractions magical long-term. Still, if Frozen Ever After is high on your priority list, now is the time to ride it while you can.

We’ll continue to watch for progress on this ride’s refurbishment while it’s closed and will be sharing its reopening date as soon as it’s announced! Be sure to stay tuned with us here at AllEars to learn the best Disney World tips, tricks, and more.
