While Disney’s Hollywood Studios being full of construction walls isn’t ideal for those visiting the parks now, it’s going to be worth it when both Monstropolis and The Magic of Disney Animation additions are complete.

For the time being, though, these walls are a bit of an eyesore. We were able to just see Disney make some pretty big progress on the former Animation Courtyard construction, because the ENTIRE Hollywood Studios arch is gone, but now we’ve got a look at what’s happening BEHIND the construction walls, and it’s pretty wild!
Thanks to the user @bioreconstruct on X (formerly Twitter), we now have a look behind the walls from the sky to see what’s going on, and WOW, have things made some pretty big progress.

There are large dumpsters all throughout the site to get the gutted contents of these buildings and their exterior design elements thrown away without leaving a mess, but what caught our eye immediately is the former spot of the Hollywood Studios arch — the concrete foundation is all that’s left! It really does look like a crane just came by, picked it up in one piece, and hauled it off. We have no way of knowing if that’s really what happened, but we find it pretty interesting that it was entirely there one day, then gone the next.

We can also see from this photo that the Star Wars Launch Bay sign has also been taken down. While this sign is gone, the Disney Junior posters around the area are still up, but seeing as they appear to be focusing on signage first, we wouldn’t be surprised if these are taken down, or at least changed, relatively soon.

Everything from the former meet and greet spots of the Disney Jr. characters right near the closed Disney Jr. Dance Party is also gone, with the exception of the paint on the concrete and pieces of their background on the building. Since the recent changes at Hollywood & Vine, there’s no current location to meet the Disney Jr. characters in any of the Disney World parks. There will be a new Disney Jr. show coming back to the area, and while Disney has said there will be lots of character experiences, they haven’t specified which characters are coming back, so we hope there’s plenty for the little ones.

As an added bonus, we also got a look at the construction happening in Toy Story Land, right near the entrance of Galaxy’s Edge. It looks like concrete has been poured for what’s been rumored to be a new stack stand, but that has yet to be confirmed. The other area closer to Galaxy’s Edge looks to have had lots of its concrete ripped out, so it’s just dirt underneath, and there are multiple covered pieces of equipment (or perhaps material?) inside the walls.

Huge thank you to @bioreconstruct for taking these photos and sharing them online for us all to enjoy! We’ll be sure to be on the lookout for all the latest Disney World news and updates so you’re prepared for your next trip, so stay tuned to AllEars!
