A MAJOR Ride Change Hits Hollywood Studios Next Year

Disney World is undergoing a lot of changes, and while your head might be spinning from the idea of Villains Land and Monstropolis, you can’t forget about this ride update.

Hollywood Studios

Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom are currently undergoing construction for some significant additions that will arrive in the future. However, the park that will see the most significant change soon is Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

If you’re looking for a travel agent to help with your vacation, we recommend our friends at Mouse Fan Travel. They’re experts in the field with over 20 years of vacation planning experience, and they can help take a bunch of the stress out of the entire booking process for you!

Disney made a huge announcement back in August 2024 that changes would be coming to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in Galaxy’s Edge at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. The change will introduce new storylines for the ride featuring the Mandalorian and Grogu (a.k.a. Baby Yoda).

New missions will be added to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers run in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort featuring the Mandalorian and Grogu.

The popular attraction is set to debut the changes on May 22nd, 2026. We may as well call that day Mando and Grogu day, since The Mandalorian and Grogu movie debuts in theatres on that same day! Disney recently released the trailer, which you can check out below.

The new scenes coming to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run are said to be inspired by the upcoming film, set to release in 2026. Dave Filoni told the D23 crowd in 2024, “Just imagine it: you’ll be able to fly alongside Mando and Grogu on thrilling, and dangerous, missions.”

Starting May 22, 2026, new missions will be added to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort, featuring the Mandalorian and Grogu.

The new adventure has provided Disney Imagineers with an incredible opportunity to collaborate with some of the best teams in the industry. They’re working with ILM and Lucasfilm’s art department to bring to life the look and feel that will have Mando and Grogu explore iconic locations in the Star Wars universe, including Tatooine…

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run attractions at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort are being updated with a new Mando and Grogu mission, launching Memorial Day Weekend 2026.

Together with ILM using RealEngine 5 by Epic Games, Disney has collaborated to develop the gameplay that will coordinate with these new locations. Just looking at the concept art, we’re getting extremely excited!

Starting May 22, 2026, new missions will be added to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort featuring the Mandalorian and Grogu.

Smugglers Run, as we know it, has one storyline to go through. Now, it looks like we’re going to have many adventures to experience, and they look like a Star Wars fan’s dream. The force will have to be strong with us as we pilot around the galaxy.

That’s not the only change coming to the ride — this next one is also BIG! For the first time, you will be in control of the destinations you visit. You heard that right, you get to pick where you’ll be heading! Guests in the engineer positions will be able to communicate with Grogu during their mission. Looks like the fight for pilot might be coming to an end.
