I Didn’t Want To Tell You About My Favorite EPCOT Pavilion Hack, But My Editor Is Making Me Do It

Making your way around EPCOT can be a daunting task, especially during the warmer months. However, several hacks inside the area’s pavilions make the journey much easier.

China Pavilion

I’ve been writing about EPCOT for 7 years, and over that time, I’ve spoken to many members of the AllEars team about the best ways to maneuver around the World Showcase Lagoon without getting wiped out.

La Hacienda de San Angel Seating

Located on the shores of the World Showcase Lagoon across frothe Mexico Pavilion, La Hacienda de San Angel generally offers one of the most unique dining experiences in Walt Disney World. However, what some may not know is that the restaurant is only open during dinner, beginning at 4:00 PM. Before that time the restaurant’s seating — which gives tremendous views of the World Showcase — is usually open for anyone.

Shanghai Seating

At the center of EPCOT’s China Pavilion sits a replica of the Temple of Heaven, which houses Reflections of China as well as our focus today, the House of Whispering Willows Gallery. Currently, the gallery is home to an exhibition on the Shanghai Disneyland Resort. Near the exhibition is a group of benches and seating that can be a calm place to cool down and relax.

Relax in Kawaii Style

Located at the back of the Japan Pavilion, the Bijutsu-kan Gallery currently hosts an exhibit on Japan’s Kawaii culture, featuring the history of pop culture characters like Hello Kitty, which shows how the “cute” culture is rooted deep in Japan’s Shinto past and how it’s become a core aspect of Japanese culture —and a new form of self-expression. In addition to housing a fascinating exhibit, the gallery provides an air-conditioned, usually uncrowded space for guests to decompress.

Sp(Ice Water) Road Table

Spice Road Table, located on the shores of the lagoon outside of the Morocco Pavilion, provides some of our favorite World Showcase eats. However, there’s also a perk located in the restaurant’s foyer that’s available to any guest, even those not eating there: ice water. This is some of the coldest water you’ll find at the park, and it provides a wonderful respite on a hot day.
