Why Disney Adults Will be Watching Airfares in February

Do you plan on flying to a Disney Resort this year? Don’t miss this travel tip!

Let’s fly to Disney World!

One of the trickiest parts about traveling to a Disney theme park resort around the world is figuring out how to get there. If you plan on flying you have to factor in routes, airfare, and so much more — creating a bit of a headache. Fortunately, we have one tip for Disney Adults and newcomers alike that will make flying this year cheaper and easier and all you have to do is pay attention to airfare in February.

Disney Vacation Planner

Deciding when to buy your airfare isn’t an easy choice, and, ultimately, the correct answer is “It depends.” Generally speaking, booking 60 days out or 2 to 3 months before your trip is a common practice. With that said, as we’re about to exit January 2025 travel is starting to get more serious, and so you may be wondering which month exactly is the best for booking airfare.

According to Fidelity Investments and CheapAir, “January is generally the cheapest month to fly.” That doesn’t really help us as we’re about to exit the month. However, they do note that the next cheapest month to fly is February.

Orlando International Airport

If you want to put together a last-minute Disney trip, February is a cheap month to visit when considering airfare.

The key here is flexibility. If February is too short notice for you, you can still get good rates throughout the year by being flexible.

To save even more, consider flying midweek instead of opting for weekend flights. Wednesdays especially can save you nearly $100 compared to flying on a Sunday. CheapAir also recommends flying at less busy times, such as early in the morning or late at night.

Using airline miles and perks, opting for layovers, and using price monitoring tools can help you save year-round.

Fidelity also suggests keeping an eye on prices AFTER you purchase your airfare. “Many airlines have policies honoring cheaper fares you might find shortly after purchasing. Before you book with a particular airline, investigate any rules they have about price adjustments.”
