BIG Change Hits Disney Cruise Line Fees

Are you planning a voyage on Disney Cruise Line? If so, you may have already paid for your cruise — that price will generally cover most of your trip, including dining at rotational dining restaurants, most onboard activities, entertainment, and more.

However, there are some additional fees you should be aware of, including the cost of excursions and premium dining. However, one fee you might not be thinking about is gratuities. Now, Disney Cruise Line has increased its suggested gratuity amount.

Disney Cruise Line has updated the recommended gratuity for passengers. The new recommended gratuity for non-concierge passengers is now $16 per night (the previously recommended amount was $14.50 per night) per person. For guests staying in concierge rooms, the recommended amount is now $27.25 (previously $23.50) per person.

You can also choose to pre-pay gratuities online by visiting the My Reservations section of your Disney account and following the prompts for Pre-Paid Gratuities. If you booked your cruise with a travel agent, you can contact them to apply for pre-paid gratuities. Those will be distributed to the following Cast Members on your cruise:

  • Dining room server
  • Dining room assistant server
  • Dining room head server
  • Stateroom host
  • Assistant stateroom host for concierge rooms

If you don’t pre-pay, the optional gratuity amount will be added to your onboard account. Once you get on the ship, you can remove or adjust the amount by visiting Guest Services.

Also, note that an 18% gratuity is charged to your onboard account for bar, beverage, wine, deck service tabs, and spa services.
