NEWS: Universal Announces Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit Closing Timeline

We just got some MASSIVE news out of Universal Orlando that you won’t want to miss!

Rip Ride Rockit

Epic Universe opens in May, and while fans are pretty excited about that, there’s still SO much happening between now and then. Recently, Universal filed a permit to demolish Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit in Universal Studios, and now, we know when the ride is officially closing for good.

On December 26th, a user on X (formerly Twitter) asked Universal when the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit attraction would be closing. Then, Universal later responded, confirming the ride will permanently close in September 2025.

So, what will be replacing this attraction? Well, we’re not sure just yet, but the permit filed does say, “remove existing attraction and replace with proposed attraction.” We asked our readers how they felt about the ride closing and were surprised to get some mixed reviews!

Some readers said they wouldn’t miss the attraction due to how intense it was (particularly on the neck) and said they’d like to see a ride with Universal theming, such as Ghostbusters or Back to The FutureHowever, others shared they’re sad to see it go, particularly because they loved the option of getting to choose what song you listen to while you ride.

However, pretty much everyone is in agreement on one thing — whatever ride replaces Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, they’d like to see it be a modern, smooth coaster! And we couldn’t agree more.
