Planning a Disney trip is exciting, but let’s be honest, it gets expensive fast.

Between park tickets, resort stays, and character meals, the last thing you want is to overspend on the essentials. But those must-haves — like Mickey ears, portable fans, ponchos, and autograph books — can add up quickly if you’re buying them in the parks. I’ve learned to plan ahead and find all the same items for a fraction of the cost. Here are a few items to grab at the Dollar Store!
You can grab a pair of sunglasses for the whole family for just $1.50 a piece! This is a great idea if you are looking for a pair for vacation that you don’t have to worry about losing in the parks. It’s great to grab multiple pairs for the kids as well because they will probably be left behind on a ride or at a restaurant.

Grabbing a pair of summer sandals for your Disney trip for only $5 is a great idea. This is perfect to grab an extra pair to wear to your resort’s pool or to throw on to get a refill of your resort mug.

It gets VERY hot in Disney, so it’s great to bring multiple packs of deodorant with you. I even pack one in my park bag for those rope drop to fireworks days. You can grab brand-name deodorant here for just $1.25! You can’t beat that.

If you’re traveling with little kids to Disney, let me tell you a secret — they will, in fact, want the bubble wand. Once they see one kid with it, the next thing you know, you’re spending some serious money on a bubble wand. You can grab one from the Dollar Store for just $5, which is MUCH cheaper than the ones you’ll find in the parks.

Finally, go ahead and save money on these stainless steel tumblers. You can grab some for the whole family. They are only $5 and will be great for keeping hydrated on those hot days.

Fans are a definite must! It is so hot and humid. You definitely need one and you see people carrying them everywhere! I actually don’t know if Dollar tree has has them. I got mine off of Amazon. They sell a large array of them but $8-$20, depending on the kind that you choose, is definitely cheaper than the $40 one that they sell at Disneyland. Plus, they are rechargeable.
