We Went To a FREE After Hours Event at Disney's Hollywood Studios

There are plenty of reasons why someone might want to join the Disney Vacation Club.

But, if you ask us — it’s all about the PERKS! In addition to getting dibs on Disney hotels, discounts on dining, merchandise, and more, DVC Members get access to some seriously special events — like Moonlight Magic. We recently checked out this exclusive after-hours party and are bringing you along!

Welcome to Moonlight Magic at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! These after-hours events are complimentary for Disney Vacation Club members and take place at different parks a few times throughout the year. Since these events are exclusive, capacity is limited meaning low crowds and wait times!

The event we went to at Hollywood Studios ran from 9:30PM to 12:30AM — well after the park had been closed to the general public. So, that’s when we showed up! When you check-in, you’ll be given a map and a wristband.

In addition to free park admission, Moonlight Magic also includes FREE snacks! Like other after-hours events, there is no shortage of complimentary popcorn and ice cream, but we were also given snack coupons that allowed us to get qualifying Disney Dining Plan food and drink items at select locations. Yet another major perk of these events!

There was special entertainment like a DJ out in front of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway…

…and special character meet and greets, too! We saw some Jawas…

…Mike, Sulley, and George from Monsters, Inc…

…and even Moongirl from Moongirl and Devil Dinosaur!

Of course, Mickey and Minnie were out in front of Hollywood and Vine…

…in their new Halloween costumes!

Wait times were pretty low throughout the event and we were able to walk onto pretty much everything we wanted!

And, of course — we had plenty of ice cream.
