EPCOT's NEW Festival Area Just Took a MAJOR Step Toward Opening in Disney World

If it feels like you’ve been waiting forever for the EPCOT Transformation to finally be complete — you have.

But, the end is near and this summer will bring about the opening of CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza — the newest EPCOT festival hubs. It seems like construction is moving along quickly from what we’ve seen, and we recently spotted Disney testing the lights for the first time!

EPCOT’s CommuniCore Hall is opening on June 10th, and we can’t wait to experience all it has to offer. We’ve been keeping up with the latest construction updates and we recently spotted something pretty exciting — new LIGHTS! Check them out in the video below.

We stuck around for a bit to check things out and saw the lights change from red…

…to green…

…to blue…

…to white! This just means CommuniCore Hall is one step closer to its June 10th opening.

CommuniCore Hall will be the “hub” for EPCOT’s festivals. It’ll have a demonstration kitchen, mixology bar, gallery space, new Mickey meet-and-greet, and more! It will be open year-round, which means we’ll be able to catch some cool A.C. in the middle of a HOT summer day.

Disney called it an “indoor space for you and your family to recharge,” so it sounds like there will be plenty of comfortable seating (and hopefully some tables, too!).
