2024 is shaping up to be a BIG year for Disney World.

New restaurants and rides will be opening up, hotel renovations will be completed, and a whole bunch of rules will be changing. From park pass reservations to park hopping and more, it’s a lot to keep track of — which is why we’re reminding you of this Virtual Queue CHANGE!
Disney World virtual queues are CHANGING! Starting January 9th, you will be able to join one attraction virtual queue at any theme park where you have valid admission.

As of now, two rides use virtual queues in Disney World — Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and TRON Lightcycle / Run, allowing guests to book a spot in a “virtual” line to come back and ride later that day. There are two drops for virtual queues, at 7AM and 1PM, but to book the 7AM slot currently, you must have a park pass reservation for the park in which the ride is located.

Right now, you would need a park reservation to a specific park to join that virtual queue. For example, if you wanted to join the TRON Lightcycle / Run virtual queue, you would need a park pass reservation for Magic Kingdom.
Luckily, that’s all changing on January 9th!

This only applies to guests with date-based tickets — meaning Annual Passholders and those with non-date-based tickets will still have to have a park pass reservation to book a virtual queue in that particular park.
Guests will still need to be inside the park to make that 1PM request to join the virtual queue. Annual Passholders will still need to have a park pass on days not labeled as “Good to Go” days.
