EPCOT has been going through its massive transformation for so long already!

We may speak for a lot of us when we say, we are ready to stop looking at walls on our EPCOT trips! And soon, we won’t have to. Just recently, the brand new World Celebration Gardens opened up to the world. They brought with them the new Dreamers Point and the “Walt the Dreamer” statue. It’s a location that has brought on so much awe and relaxation inside a busy theme park. (PLUS, it gave us our glowing sidewalks back!)
But Disney had told us that the entire EPCOT transformation would be completed by the end of 2023. So why do we still see walls up when we’re halfway through December? Let’s take a look at what’s going on inside EPCOT.
The gardens in World Celebration are a welcoming spot to hang out during your trip. But they aren’t the only things coming to World Celebration. The two festival locations are still underway– CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza– and Disney has had to announce that their completion is being postponed to 2024.

As disappointing as it is that these buildings (and therefore the transformation) will not be completed this year, we have noticed the construction is moving along. While we were wandering through the park the other day, we passed by the construction of CommuniCore Hall and thought it was actually (and FINALLY) starting to really look like the concept art!

In the concept art, you can see that the exterior of the building will have geometric shapes similar to Spaceship Earth and some pretty coloring.

In the recent construction updates, we’re finally starting to see the geometric pattern and some of the coloring come to life!

CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza will become central hubs for all of EPCOT’s festivals. They will host concerts, demonstrations, booths, kitchens, bars, and so much more! It’s great to see that, even though they have been delayed, progress is clearly being made.
While we wait (im)patiently for everything to be done in EPCOT, keep following All Ears for all the Disney updates!
