As exciting as Universal Orlando is, there’s a reason you may not want to book a vacation for 2024.
Don’t get us wrong, we LOVE Universal Orlando. We recently experienced the first Halloween Horror Nights event of 2023. But here’s why 2024 is NOT the year to book your next vacation to the theme park.
Universal Orlando’s newest park, Epic Universe, won’t open in Orlando until 2025. While Universal has not released everything about this new park yet, it seems like the park will have a Classic Monsters land, a new Harry Potter section, and lands dedicated to How To Train Your Dragon and Super Nintendo World, among others.
Now, you could absolutely plan a trip for 2024, since it is a long time to wait, but when the new park opens the next year, you may not be able to visit for some time. Whereas if you wait to book your trip for 2025, you should be able to visit all three parks!
It’s completely up to you and your family what works best for you all. If you’re not a big fan of the new park and would rather just experience the classics, or maybe you’re splitting your trip between Disney and Universal and wouldn’t have time for the 3rd park, then, by all means, go in 2024!
On the flip side, if you’re curious about Epic Universe and think you’d want to experience the new park while you’re in the area, then we suggest holding off until 2025. Especially if it will be many years before you can save up for another vacation.

Last year and this year Universal has been running Buy 3 days, get 2 free promos to try to get people to continue to visit. I would assume they will do something similar next year. However, come 2025, don’t expect too many deals because of epic universe. As a matter of fact, I would guess the price of a multi-day or park-to-park ticket increase by 50% the price of a ticket in 2024 due to the opening of Epic Universe.
