There’s a lot more to Magic Kingdom than “it’s a small world” and Jungle Cruise. Nowadays, you can zoom through The Grid on TRON Lightcycle / Run or mine some sparkly gemstones on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. There’s a lot more to EPCOT than Spaceship Earth and Soarin’, too. Times are changing, people!

In fact, EPCOT is in the middle of a HUGE transformation right now, and we’re looking forward to all the new additions coming to Disney World. We’re one step closer to the grand opening of one EPCOT attraction, and we’ve got the proof!
EPCOT’s new Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana walkthrough attraction is opening SOON. The attraction is set to open in the fall of 2023, and we can’t wait to check it out!

Disney has previously shared that the experience will allow guests to interact with water, surrounding them with characters and theming from Moana. On our most recent visit to EPCOT, we saw some promising progress. Check it out: the concept art is finally coming to life!

The landscape is made up of tons of plants and shady coverings, which is perfect for those exhausting, hot summer days in the park. We’ve been watching the construction for a long time now, and we’re impressed with how far things have come.

We also noticed some new effects, music, and mist testing happening in the area. Here’s the view from the EPCOT monorail; see all the new mist effects?

Above the construction walls, we even noticed a stream of water jumping through the air. Sound familiar? It reminded us of the water fountain over by the Imagination Pavilion!

We can’t wait for Disney to officially open this area to guests — it looks like the perfect place to cool off, explore, and maybe even learn a thing or two about nature! In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.
