Disney World has all sorts of weird rules, we’ll be honest.

Well, when you think about why the rules are in place, they’re not really weird at all. For example, Mickey Mouse can’t sign your baby, Rapunzel can’t write you a Get Well Soon card, and the Cast Members can’t hold important items for you. There are so many rules that unsuspecting Disney guests accidentally break. This post is going to talk about two very common rules that are broken probably every single day at Disney World. Let’s talk about it!
We’ll start off this post with a caveat. If you break these rules, the worst that will probably happen is that a Cast Member will simply ask you not to do this in the future. Chances are, you probably won’t get escorted out of the park or anything. Without further ado, let’s talk about these commonly-broken rules!
You Can’t Take Balloons Into Animal Kingdom
Have you ever noticed that balloons aren’t sold in Disney’s Animal Kingdom? Well, that’s for good reason! If these balloons get trapped in the animals’ habitats or on the animals themselves, bad things can happen. No further explanation necessary, y’all.

Well, many Disney visitors buy balloons in the other parks and then park hop to Animal Kingdom. A Cast Member will typically just grab it from you while you’re entering the park, but occasionally they’ll go unnoticed. If you find yourself taking a balloon into Animal Kingdom, consider gifting the balloon to another family that is leaving the park! Or, if you really want to keep it, you can ask a Cast Member how you can get your balloon back later without taking it into the park.
You Can’t Wear Crocs on Escalators
Crocs are a fan-favorite shoe to wear to the Disney parks because of how lightweight they are as well as the fact that they’re waterproof — which comes in clutch when those midday rain showers hit. The only downside to wearing Crocs at Disney World? You can’t wear them on escalators!

There have been instances in the past where the shoes get stuck in the cracks of the escalator, which can cause maintenance issues. (Um, not to mention you won’t have shoes anymore. Or, heaven forbid, your big toe.) Reportedly, if the shoes touch the sides of the escalator, friction generates heat which then melts the plastic of the shoes. This is what causes them to get stuck! If you’re wearing Crocs or similar shoes, the Cast Members might just ask you to take the stairs or elevator — if they even notice at all.
