The Single Best Thing They’ve Added to Magic Kingdom in the Past 10 Years

Magic Kingdom has changed a LOT over the past ten years — and it’s still changing.

A LOT has changed in Magic Kingdom

While we’re waiting for construction to be completed on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, we’ve already celebrated the opening of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and TRON Lightcycle / Run. Lightning Lanes have replaced FastPass lanes, and even Cinderella Castle was updated for Disney World’s 50th anniversary. But there’s one change we’ve seen in the past decade that is the BEST.

If you’ve been to Disney World recently, you’ll know that you’re going to be using your mobile phone…a LOT. In addition to using My Disney Experience to check park hours, wait times, and get information, you’ll also be using it to book advance dining reservations, check in for dining reservations, mobile order food, use Disney Genie and Genie+, and more. All that phone usage takes its toll and will suck the life out of your phone’s battery quickly!

Nothing will suck your phone’s battery life like using Genie+

So what can you do? Well, we usually recommend carrying a mobile charger, but if you don’t have one, there’s at least ONE park in Disney World where you can charge your phone FOR FREE with nothing more than your charging cable and plug-in. That’s Magic Kingdom, which not only has outlets for charging your phone but also actual mobile charging stations.

Do you know where to charge your phone in Magic Kingdom?

The first mobile charging station is next to Pete’s Silly Sideshow in Storybook Circus. There’s a yellow tent there that serves as a place to relax for a little while.

Ooh, What’s This?

Inside, you’ll find something VERY rare in Disney World: places to sit in the shade! But more importantly, you’ll also find a mobile charging station where you can plug in your phone (or other devices) and charge to your heart’s content.

Nearby, in Fantasyland, you’ll find a charging station in the Tangled area. Just look for a tree that has this little hidden compartment.

Open up the compartment and you’ll see where you can plug in your phone and other devices.

These are still relatively new, but now you know where they are. However, there are OTHER places in Magic Kingdom where you can charge your phone, too. First, you can charge your phone in Tomorrowland at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe. This outlet can be found in the hallway leading to the bathrooms.

You’ll also find several outlets at the exit of Space Mountain leading into Tomorrowland Launch Depot.

There’s one more spot to find outlets in Tomorrowland: at Tomorrowland Terrace. You’ll find outlets in the seated dining area here.

If you’re in Liberty Square, you’ll be happy that Columbia Harbour House doesn’t adhere to the whole “period” vibes of the area. You’ll find several outlets in the upstairs area here. Grab some food, sit near an outlet and charge away to your heart’s content.

So if you find yourself in Magic Kingdom needing to charge your phone, now you know where you can do so! We’d love to see more free mobile charging stations throughout the park, but for now, there’s also FuelRod.

  1. Thank you, I did not know about the one in the Tangled area. I do have one of those power sticks that you can exchange. I bought mine when they first started doing them and I still use it and exchange for free if I need to.
