It’s Memorial Day weekend, and you know what that means — crowds are coming!
When we took a look at wait times recently, the times were slowly creeping up as we approached Memorial Day, and the crowds are certainly on the rise thanks to both a holiday weekend and the start of summer vacation. However, looking at Genie+ today, it seems the crowds have arrived.
Genie+ will cost you $25 in Disney World today, May 28th, which is the highest it’s cost in over a month!
This isn’t completely surprising, considering, as we said before, the holiday weekend and summer crowds are here, but there is one catch to this price that many may not like.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster has finally reopened after a long refurbishment closure, and it’s just now starting to show up on the My Disney Experience app again after a soft opening. However, it is still currently unavailable with Genie+.
This is a bummer for many reasons, but the biggest is that newly reopened rides often have quite long waits. And if you’ve paid for Genie+ and are hoping that the ride will be included like it normally is, only to find out that it isn’t at the moment…yeah, you see where we’re going with this.
As for Individual Lightning Lanes (which you do pay for individually and separately from Genie+), this is what you’ll be looking at:
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train: $12 (was last this high on April 15th)
- TRON Lightcycle / Run: $20
- Rise of the Resistance: $22
- Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind: $17 (was last this high on April 15th)
- Flight of Passage: $16 (was last this high on April 15th)
So if you’re in the parks this weekend, keep in mind that you may be paying more for Genie+, but with one fewer ride included. We’re hoping to see Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster back with Genie+ soon, so stay tuned to AllEars for more updates and all the latest Disney news!
Here’s how to ride Rise of the Resistance with a 15-minute wait!
