How to Conquer Character Meet-and-Greet ANXIETY in Disney World

Most of us have been in this dreaded meet-and-greet situation before.

Mulan Meet and Greet

You’ve been so excited to meet this character and get a photo with them or get their autograph. You’re thrilled to get a few minutes actually meeting them, but as soon as you get up there…you have no idea what to say. Don’t worry, we’ve all been there, and we’re here to help give you some ideas for what to talk to characters about during your meet and greet time!

Let’s go through some of the characters you can meet in Disney, and some conversation starters you can talk to them about!

Mickey & Minnie

You can meet the iconic couple at Town Square Theater in Magic Kingdom, as well as at Adventurer’s Outpost in Animal Kingdom. You can also see them at Red Carpet Dreams in Hollywood Studios, and Mickey can sometimes be found at Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival in EPCOT and Minnie at the World Showcase Friendship Ambassador Gazebo. Basically, they’re all over!

Mickey and Minnie!

For Mickey, one of our team members was on her honeymoon trip and asked Mickey if he was planning to propose to Minnie after Minnie pointed out her ring. You also can always ask Minnie about her outfits, which she usually mimes that she made herself, and Mickey is clearly immensely proud of her!

Donald Duck

You can see Donald in DinoLand U.S.A. and in Tusker House in Animal Kingdom, on the Front Entrance Balcony in Hollywood Studios, and in the Mexico Pavilion in EPCOT.

We love Donald!

Expect a pretty strong reaction from this, but ask Donald if he’s #1, or if Mickey is. You probably know what the answer is going to be!

Alice

You can usually spot Alice in the UK Pavilion Gardens in EPCOT, or sometimes near the Teacups in Magic Kingdom during special events.

Alice in the UK Pavilion in EPCOT’s World Showcase

We usually ask Alice about her cat, Dinah, especially where her name came from. We’ve also asked her what we should do to celebrate our birthdays, and she had a very interesting answer!

Winnie The Pooh

You can meet Pooh over near The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh ride or dine in at The Crystal Palace.

Winnie The Pooh and Tigger

One of our team members shared that she always likes to ask Pooh if he’s seen any Heffalumps in the area (Spoiler alert: Pooh is scared of Heffalumps)!

Jack Sparrow

You can meet Jack Sparrow in Adventureland close to Pirates of the Caribbean.

Jack Sparrow meeting guests

We go for the classic — ask him if he’s seen his jar of dirt or any rum around!

Snow White

You can meet Snow White at the Town Square Theater Porch in Magic Kingdom, the Germany Pavilion Wishing Well in EPCOT, and at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge for Storybook Dining at Artist Point.

Snow White in EPCOT

We suggest asking Snow White if the dwarfs ever bring her jewels from the mines or what the key to the best gooseberry pie is.

Tiana

You can meet Tiana at Princess Fairytale Hall in Magic Kingdom.

Princess Tiana

We love asking Tiana how to make gumbo, or for her beignet recipe!

Cinderella

You can meet Cinderella at Princess Fairytale Hall or right before you eat at Cinderella’s Royal Table in Magic Kingdom.

Cinderella at Cinderella’s Royal Table

We love to ask Cinderella if she’s lost any shoes recently, or about Prince Charming.

Merida

You can meet this hero at Fairytale Gardens in Magic Kingdom.

Merida!

We personally love to ask Merida if she has any archery tips! Who better to ask, right?

Peter Pan

You can meet Peter Pan near Peter Pan’s Flight in Magic Kingdom! Sometimes he likes to wander, too!

Peter Pan Meet and Greet

If you want a really interesting question, ask Peter if he thinks Jack Sparrow is a good pirate.

Anna & Elsa

Anna and Elsa can both be found at Royal Sommerhaus in the Norway Pavilion in EPCOT.

Anna and Elsa in Norway!

We suggest using Anna and Elsa what it’s like to be sisters, especially if you have a sister with you, or your kids have sisters!

General Conversation Ideas

If you’re searching for just general ideas for meet and greets, try asking the character about their movie, or the other characters in their film. It’s a great way to open up the conversation. You can also ask them generic questions, like their favorite food, favorite color, or what the best way to celebrate your birthday is!

Meeting Chip and Dale!

If you’re searching for all the character meet and greets you can find in Disney World, we’ve even tried to meet every single character in Disney! As always, stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest Disney news.
