Test Track in EPCOT closed on June 17th, 2024, for refurbishment, and other than an opening timeline and a few small details, we don’t know a whole lot about what to expect when the third version of this ride opens up. But now, we just learned that Test Track will open on July 22nd, but also got NEW details about the ride!

That’s right — Disney just announced today that the new version of Test Track will reopen on July 22nd! Previews for Cast Members, Annual Passholders, DVC Members, and more will take place before then.

We also learned that the attraction will feature an all-new musical score, as well as new scenes that highlight the technology that is “making our cars smarter and our lives more fun.” One of the scenes depicts how cars can use enhanced cameras and sensors to “see” the world around them, and to make that come to life, Walt Disney Imagineers were able to represent this tech utilizing over 29,000 points of light! Check out the video below talking more about it!

We also got some insight on how Imagineers designed the interior based on the updated storyline. Yes, they are getting specific about the trees!

Disney previously shared that the new version of Test Track will take aspects from the original World of Motion and the most recent version of Test Track to bring us an innovative experience.  Your joy ride on the reimagined Test Track will begin with scenes that focus on “onboard technology, customization, and personalization.” Afterward, you will enjoy a ride through the scenic outdoors to celebrate the joys of taking in the world around us and spending time with family and friends.

A re-imaged version of Test Track attraction will open at EPCOT in 2025.

In the concept art for the exterior of the new ride, you can spot similarities to the old ride, World of Motion! And based on what we’ve seen Disney working on now that the walls have come down, it’s looking really close to that concept art.
