BREAKING: NEW Attraction Announced for Tropical Americas Land Coming to Disney World

A special area of DinoLand U.S.A.’s days are now numbered!

The Boneyard

Disney has just confirmed that The Boneyard playground’s last day in DinoLand U.S.A. will be September 1st. September 2nd will mark the first official closed date of the popular playground; however, Disney has also confirmed a NEW playground will be coming SOON when the land’s retheming is complete!

If you’ve been following Disney World’s closure of DinoLand U.S.A., you’ll know that the entire land is set to be re-themed into Pueblo Esperanza, a celebration of the Tropical Americas.

This new area will draw inspiration from Disney’s Encanto and Indiana Jones, and the first wave of construction has already begun with the closure of TriceraTop Spin, the Fossil Fun Games, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures. These experiences closed on January 12th to make way for the new area’s construction from the dirt up! However, the rest of DinoLand U.S.A. was set to close later than this first phase.

DinoLand U.S.A. Construction

Disney has just confirmed that we can expect a NEW play area to be built within Pueblo Esperanza, giving an opportunity to families with little ones and kids at heart somewhere to run off their energy. No specific theme has been announced just yet, but we can’t wait to find out more!

This will be part of a new 11-acre, lush and sprawling area. Just like Harambe in Africa, this land will feel lived in, with a long, rich history. Not only will the land include a hacienda — which will be one of the largest quick-service restaurants at Disney World — but also two signature attractions for Indiana Jones and Encanto.

Additionally, the area will feature a large fountain in the center, and a local woodcarver has created a giant working carousel featuring his favorite animals from Disney stories. It’s a new take on a classic attraction that young families are going to love.

So it seems we can be sad that The Boneyard will be closing if it’s near and dear to your heart, but there’s a silver lining in a new play area to be explored once the new land reopens.

We’ll continue to watch for updates, so be sure to stay tuned with us at AllEars for all the latest Disney news and more!
