PSA: Epic Universe Is Getting CROWDED

We’ve been following along with Epic Universe ever since it was first announced. So, yes, we know what’s up with all the happenings at Epic Universe. We study it like homework!

We’ve watched as it was built, stepped into the park multiple times during previews, and we’ve been going frequently since it officially opened on May 22nd to see how everything is really going. When the park first opened, we noticed crowd levels seemed to be VERY low — even lower than what we’d sometimes seen in previews — but now, that’s ALL changing.

We were just in Epic Universe for another visit, and the first thing we noticed was just how BUSY it was, especially in comparison to previous trips. When we first arrived, we noticed long lines at parking and security, and by midday, the lowest wait in the park was Constellation Carousel at 30 minutes.

PSA: Epic Universe is getting BUSY!!! 📈📈📈 When the park first opened, crowds weren’t too bad — it seemed like capacity might’ve been capped. But now? Crowds are picking up, and so are those wait times! 🎢⏰ Stardust Racers, Battle at the Ministry, Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, and Mine-Cart Madness are all seeing triple-digit waits 😳🫣 If you’re planning a visit soon, pack your patience… these lines aren’t messing around! 🎟️🔥 #epicuniverse #universalstudios #universalorlando #supernintendoworld #darkuniverse #isleofberk #ministryofmagic #celestialpark

Multiple rides, including Battle at the Ministry, Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, Mine-Cart Madness, and Stardust Racers, were all seeing TRIPLE-digit waits. In the hot summer sun, those are LONG waits, but thankfully, most of the ride queues are indoors or under cover for these attractions.

So, what changed? Well, we have a suspicion that Epic Universe was capping capacity the first few weeks after its official opening, and is only now allowing for the park to get closer to reaching full capacity. This way, things didn’t appear to be as crowded or chaotic on the first few days of official operation. To many people who may not know exactly what’s going on, it just seems like summer crowds have picked up. We don’t have an exact number when it comes to park capacity, so it’s hard to gauge, but either way, the park is MUCH more crowded than it was in May.

That said, if you’re heading to Epic Universe soon, you’ll want to pack your patience, your water bottle (and use those free refill stations all around the park to get fresh, COLD water!), and your cooling towels and fans to prepare for your busy day ahead.

Use the Early Park Admission perk if you’re staying at a Universal Orlando hotel to get ahead of some of those crowds, and don’t be afraid to stay in the park when it rains — summer rain storms are common and they WILL unfortunately close the outdoor attractions in the area if there’s lightning, but they often pass quickly!
