The Unfortunate Ride Problem You’ll Run Into at Universal’s Epic Universe

You scanned your ticket, raced through the Chronos Tower, skipped to the portal you’ve been eyeing since Epic Universe opened, and ran to the ride you’ve been dying to go on when BAM. It’s not open!

Since Epic Universe is a brand-new theme park, we’re still learning all of the different nuances that we know from other parks. For Disney World, for instance, we know that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is generally late to the party when Magic Kingdom first opens for the morning, but what rides have been causing the most issues at Epic Universe? Let’s take a look!

We’ve been tracking all of the Epic Universe attractions to see which ones are going to be our trouble makers and this attraction in How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk is causing chaos.

Isle of Berk

Fyre Drill, the boat ride where you get to launch water at different targets, has been having major issues in June. For example, on Friday, June 6th, it was closed the whole day with no warning!

We’ve seen it experience delays in the morning and not open until around noon. Let’s not forget that this ride also closes if there’s bad weather (and, hey, it’s Florida, so there’s going to be bad weather).

When the attraction is open, the wait times can get pretty high, too. Just this month, we’ve seen it get up to 100 minutes, but it typically hangs around one hour. We’re obsessed with Isle of Berk but maybe not obsessed with it enough to wait 100 minutes and get soaked to the bone.

Mine-Cart Madness in Super Nintendo World, where Donkey Kong takes you on a ride as your cart jumps the track, is no angel either. They experience numerous delays throughout the day, with wait times that even Mario would avoid. The average wait time you can expect is approximately 90 minutes, with a 60-minute wait being considered a great time, and 120 minutes being the highest we’ve seen this month, so far.

This attraction also closes for bad weather in the area, and don’t be surprised if you’re walking to the attraction and you see floods of people leaving. The ride might have been down for so long that they emptied the queue with no promise of it quickly starting up again.

When you’re at Epic Universe, make sure you’re keeping a close eye on that Universal Orlando app so you know which rides are up and which ones are down before racing all over the park to get there.
