We’ve been stalking Big Thunder Mountain Railroad ever since it closed down early this year to get some much-needed maintenance along with some “extra magic,” and we have another cool update to share.

The Wildest Ride in the Wilderness is set to open next year, and while we wish we could hop on, keeping track of every change from the outside is getting us by until we can request the back row again.
Hidden under the big tarps, doesn’t that look like a new train car? It does to us! We were riding the train through Magic Kingdom when we caught a glimpse.

The taller part looks like the front of the train with the bell, and the back looks like the seats for guests. We have some construction workers actively working on it.

The outside of the attractions looks like it’s getting some refresh, too! The green sign looks freshly painted.

The town you ride through in Big Thunder is also getting a refresh. There’s a lot of scaffolding all around the different buildings.

A lot is still covered in tarps, but we know we’re getting closer and closer to the reopening.

While this might not mean much to some people, Disney Adults like us are losing our minds over the train cars coming back to the attraction. Whether they’re new or fully renovated, this is an AllEars Cast favorite ride, and we’re ready to ride.

What’s your favorite ride in Frontierland? Tell us why in the comments!
Definitely one of my all time favorite rides. I like the Anaheim one better (80s version). With the multicolor pools and earthquake scene. But the Orlando one is still awesome in its own way. I like it better than mine train. Three lift hills? It’s a good long coater ride.
