A Word of Warning to Everyone Visiting Disney World Soon

Happy Christmas week from Disney World, where we’re seeing weird crowds and even weirder weather!

Animal Kingdom Christmas Tree

Well, technically it’s not weird weather for most people around the U.S., but it’s definitely unprecedented for Florida to get so chilly this time of year! If you’re coming to the parks in the next few days, there are some things you need to know.

Let’s start with a more specific look at those weather reports. Forecasts from December 20th were predicting that temperatures will be in the 30s on the mornings of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in Orlando.

But then, on the morning of December 21st, we got an updated report! It looks like Christmas Eve is going to be even colder than predicted. That morning, the temperature at the Orlando International Airport will drop to 32 degrees! That’s the first time Orlando has seen a freeze since January 2018.

So how should you prepare if you’re coming to visit? Pack those winter weather clothes! Bring all the hats, gloves, scarves, jackets, and layers. Orlando can get pretty breezy as well, so you’ll want to prepare for the wind chill.

The World Showcase in particular can get really breezy!

As it gets into the afternoon, expect temperatures to rise into the 50s. (That’s where layering comes in handy!) Don’t come to Florida at Christmas expecting sunny, 70-degree weather this year!

Crowds in Magic Kingdom

We’ll be back with more reports on the weather as it happens, so stay tuned to AllEars. If you’re traveling this week, be prepared to deal with crowds and longer-than-usual wait times in the theme parks.

We can’t wait to share all the excitement from Disney World at Christmas, so keep following along!
