With character meet and greets returning to normal, parades back in Magic Kingdom, and fireworks shows taking place nightly in multiple parks, many Disney fans are looking to the next thing that will reportedly return to Disney World in 2022 — Fantasmic!
It’s been over two years since guests gathered in the amphitheater in Disney’s Hollywood Studios for the one-of-a-kind nighttime show. And, while Fantasmic! is set to return to Disneyland this month, we’ve been waiting on more details for when exactly it will return to Disney World — and, now Disney has shared a bit more!
According to Disney, Fantasmic! will be returning to Disney’s Hollywood Studios “later in 2022.” So, not an exact date yet, but we’re getting closer to nailing it down. And, when it finally does come back, Disney has revealed some NEW things that we can expect!
We already knew that Disney planned to change portions of the show by replacing an entire segment and adding new characters, animations, effects, and stunts. But, who and what exactly will be added?
Disney has revealed that new characters will include Mulan, Elsa, Aladdin, Pocahontas, and Moana in “herioc moments.” Plus, the show will feature new “technical enhancements” that will add to the already massive sets, pyrotechnics, special effects, and music we remember. At a media event, it was confirmed that the Pocahontas scene in particular will get a big change with Frozen 2 characters when the show comes back.
So, we may have a few more months to wait until we can see all the changes for ourselves, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for updates! And, in the meantime, stay tuned to AllEars for more of the latest Disney news!

Can’t wait, this show is the best. Hope they keep the main theme song and the character boat rides. Not to be a stickler on “new” characters but Pocahontas made a show stopping appearance in the old show haha.
