Knowing what to pack for your Walt Disney World trip is a balancing act. As much as we would like to think a fun pair of Minnie Ears are a Disney World packing essential, they won’t do too much good when your feet are covered in blisters! Striking the balance between fun and function is an important consideration.

To help you pack the stuff you’ll really need, we’ve compiled a list of a few essentials you should not forget on your next Disney World vacation!
Everyday essentials Disney charges you MORE for.
If you happen to forget some packing essentials, chances are you can find them at your Disney World resort hotel gift shop. These include sunscreen, over-the-counter medicine, first aid items, and towels.

Keep in mind, however, that Disney is banking on you forgetting these items, and they’ll add a small (or not-so-small) upcharge that you’ll have to pay! So triple check and make sure those emergency essentials, cosmetics, and other necessities are packed and ready to go.
Essentials to keep EVERYONE comfortable.
Nothing will ruin a Disney World vacation faster than a hot, tired, uncomfortable family member. Disney World vacations are rather intense, with plenty of walking, crowds, and extreme heat — the last thing you want is to be uncomfortable!

Make sure you pack those hats and sunglasses for everyone, including the kids! Also, we cannot stress enough how important it is to bring comfortable, broken-in shoes! Disney World is synonymous with walking MILES each day, and the last thing you want is to develop blisters on the first day! If you’re going to wear sandals, be sure to pack Moleskin. (You know what? Pack moleskin no matter what shoes you pack.)

Just as important to wearing comfortable shoes is staying hydrated. Make sure you bring refillable water bottles (those plastic, single-use bottles are expensive in the parks!), and consider products like Gatorade or MiO Sport for replacing those electrolytes that you’re sweating out all day long.
Current essentials for all the health and safety measures.
Everyone’s packing lists have had to change in the last twelve months. There are a number of “new” Disney World essentials in the wake of the global pandemic. Face masks will continue to be mandatory in the parks, so be sure to pack enough masks for the week. We recommend each member of your party have at least one or two extra masks to bring to the parks each day.

To keep your masks safe and clean, consider bringing mask chains or lanyards to avoid misplacing masks or feeling like you have to shove them in a pocket or place them on a table when you sit down to eat.

While hand sanitizer is still available throughout the parks, it’s best to bring your own (especially if there’s a particular brand that works well with your skin!). Bring wet wipes as well to clean off tables or any other surfaces you may encounter, including in your hotel room.

Finally, be sure to bring a small travel size container of soap if you’re planning on reusing cotton face masks throughout your trip. You’ll want to wash those reusable masks after each use, so don’t be caught without anything to wash your masks with! Many grocery and box stores even sell bars of laundry soap.

We hope this list was helpful in making sure you don’t forget those easily-forgotten Disney World essentials! Comfort is truly the name of the game here, and making sure that you have those must-haves in your suitcase as well as your park bag is one of the most important ways to make sure your next Disney World vacation is a successful one.
