PHOTOS: Some of EPCOT’s Waterways Are Being Drained

We’re constantly noticing changes in the Disney World parks for construction and refurbishment!

Construction barriers line the entrance to Epcot.

A few days ago, we spotted bushes in front of Cinderella Castle, concealing part of the stage area. Then today, we noticed that the moat was being drained. These signs have us wondering if work is going to be done in this area, and now we’ve noticed similar things going on at EPCOT!

Over in Future World at EPCOT, there are waterways between the Imagination Pavilion, The Land, and The Seas. Today, we noticed that the small ponds were getting drained!

As you can see, the water level is a lot lower than usual. We can now see many of the rocks that are on the bottom.

We weren’t sure what was going on here, so we stopped to ask a Cast Member. They didn’t know much about the process either…

Water levels are low!

…HOWEVER, they did say that they’ve seen workers drain the water here in the past before installing any features in the ponds.

They mentioned that the draining may be due to any new floral features or floating gardens coming for the International Flower & Garden Festival next month.

Could we see some new floating gardens?

We can’t wait to see what they do with this space! You know we’ll be checking back for more updates, so stay tuned to AllEars for the latest!
