Since Disney Spring reopened on May 20th, we have had many new experiences at the reopened restaurants around the shopping and dining district.

And now we have another restaurant to add to the list! Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin‘ is back OPEN today. And, we’re taking you with us to check out everything new!

Currently, Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ will be operating with reduced hours and a temporary limited menu like many other restaurants around the area.

Before we entered the restaurant, we spotted a dedication to Florida farmers who stepped up to the plate to take care of their communities during this difficult time.

They gathered food and supplies up to donate to people in need at orphanages, medical workers, police, veteran homes, charities, and more! Chef Art Smith thought it was important to honor the people who have gone above and beyond.

Chef Art Smith came out to greet everyone waiting for some of those Cheddar Drop Biscuits. He stated that while “a day without fried chicken and mac and cheese is sad,” one day we can know that “this too shall pass.”

However, Chef Art Smith also stated that this might be a beneficial transition for restaurants in the future with more hand-washing, masks for chefs, drink toppers, and more.

The new Shine Bar and Social patio is also newly opened to guests! While the bar portion has not yet been put out, guests with reservations were being seated outdoors for their meals!

The seating is distanced so guests are 6 feet apart from one another as they enjoy their time out in the Florida weather.

Homecomin’ is offering both contactless QR code menus to scan on your phones…

…and disposable paper menus that are available upon request. Although the menu is currently limited, there is still plenty to try at Homecomin’!

While you can get shine on tap to bring back home with you, there are lots of cocktails to enjoy with your meal while you’re visiting.

Now, what everyone came here for — let’s get eating! We were SO happy to be reunited with those Cheddar Drop Biscuits (and we highly recommend having a side of pepper jelly with them).

The Harvest Salad was fresh and light with the corn bread croutons, marinated veggies, and avocado (which really hit the spot).

The Barbecue Bun was a new option on Homecomin’s menu for the re-opening! The restaurant previously had a pork plate, but switched it to a sandwich with a sweet and spicy blend of pork. The sandwich was topped with crunchy slaw and a gooey egg, which we were SO INTO.

While we were at the restaurant, we also spotted a bunch of new merchandise like a face mask (with chickens on it!!)…

…drink cozies…

…bottled Deep South Hot Sauce…

…and so much more!!
