Buena Vista Rentals Updated System of Drop-off and Pick-ups To Start November 3

As you may know, Walt Disney World has enforced a new policy for all third party stroller rental companies that now requires  guests to pick up their strollers in person, directly from the vendor, when choosing to rent. ScooterBug users, Disney’s preferred service, will be the only guests able to drop off at the front desk without the presence of company reps.

Magic Kingdom

In order to adhere to this new policy and serve the greater needs of its customers, Buena Vista Rentals has announced they’ll be moving into a new drop-off and pick-up schedule that will go into effect for all NEW reservations made starting Thursday, November 3. Please note, any reservations made before October 1st will not be affected.

Many Walt Disney World visitors are familiar with the popular company, Buena Vista Rentals, that provide ECVs (electronic convenience vehicles), strollers, and other equipment for those who wish to rent from a third party vendor.

Strollers

Since Buena Vista Rentals will no longer be able to drop off your rental with the bellman at your resort, they have announced a new “meet and greet” system. Walt Disney World resorts have been divided into five zones, and each route will have three daily pick-ups and drop-offs.

  1. This sucks! I don’t understand Disney’s reasoning here at all and it is unfair to the few companies who have been servicing guests for years.

  2. Man this is disappointing that Disney is requiring this.

My wife can walk a little bit but she can’t walk long distances.

The last two times we have gone to Disney (Florida and California) we have rented ECV’s. It has been so convenient that the chair was waiting for us when we checked in and we just drop it off at the front desk when we leave.

Now, we will have to waste 1/2 a day on check-in and check-out just to get the chair, depending on airline schedules, etc.

  3. absolutely ridiculous, just another way to take up precious time! So much for the “skip the desk & head straight to the parks” with the magic bands. What if we miss our pickups or drop offs due to airline delays etc. What happens to the people who barely get around with a cane and really rely on these scooters. Does scooter bug offer Star Wars themed scooters? What happens to the rapport you have built with an off sight vender, who had been a Disney Favorite for years???
