Overview

You might remember that Walt Disney World recently phased out Genie+ and introduced the Lightning Lane Multi-Pass (LLMP) in its place. Additionally, the a la carte Individual Lightning Lanes have been rebranded as Lightning Lane Single Pass (LLSP). The major shift from Genie+ to Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass is that guests can now reserve rides up to 7 days ahead, based on their status, and can make three selections in advance. However, this also means stacking is no longer an option, which is a drawback for off-site guests, and it’s likely you’ll be scoring fewer Lightning Lanes per day. Plus, you’ll need to decide whether or not to purchase these passes before your trip starts, without being able to gauge the crowd levels firsthand.

The key thing to understand is that the Lightning Lane Multi-Pass (LLMP) and Single Pass (LLSP) are sticking around. The new Lightning Lane Premier Pass (LLPP) is separate from these and serves as an alternative line-skipping option for guests who prefer to skip the hassle of LLMP or LLSP. While LLPP will include the same ride options as the other Lightning Lane services, it’ll operate differently.

This new skip-the-line offering premiered in Disney World on October 30th, 2024. When Lightning Lane Premier Pass initially launched, it was only available to purchase by guests staying at Disney Deluxe hotels. On January 21st, 2025, Disney expanded this option to all Disney resort hotel guests.

How to Guide

Before you buy a Lightning Lane Premier Pass, make sure to do the following three things:

  1. Connect everyone in your travel group through your Family & Friends list so you can purchase Lightning Lane Premier Passes for all eligible members.
  2. Ensure that everyone in your party is a registered guest at an eligible Resort hotel and has valid theme park admission. Depending on the type of admission and your visit date, park reservations may also be required—check the theme park reservation requirements for details.
  3. Download the latest version of the My Disney Experience app

Lightning Lane Premier Pass allows guests one-time access to each Lightning Lane entrance at attractions in a single theme park per day, with the flexibility to use it at any time—no need to reserve a time slot in advance. However, there is no Park Hopper option for LLPP at Disney World.

Here’s how to make the most of it:

  1. Head to the Lightning Lane entrance and tap in with a Disney band, Disney MagicMobile pass, Key to the World Card, or ticket card linked to your valid theme park admission.
  2. Skip the standby line and join a shorter queue for the attraction or experience instead.
  3. Enjoy other Lightning Lane experiences around the park at your own pace.

  • Open the My Disney Experience app and tap “Today’s Plans” in the menu. This will take you to the “My Day” feature.
  • View your Lightning Lane Premier Pass and tap to see your experiences for the day, including which ones are still available and which ones you’ve already used.

Pricing

Pricing for Lightning Lane Premier Passes will vary by date and park, with launch rates ranging from $129 to $449 per person, plus tax. The highest prices will apply during peak travel periods on select days. Here’s the pricing range for each park:
