With how big Disney World property is, transportation is essential to get around!

Disney World is great at offering premium transportation all over the Resort. Buses, the Monorail, and the Skyliner are all offered to take you from park to park, hotel to park, or hotel to hotel. However, it looks like transportation is going to get a little trickier come 2026.
If you’re looking for a travel agent to help with your vacation, we recommend our friends at Mouse Fan Travel. They’re experts in the field with over 20 years of vacation planning experience, and they can help take a bunch of the stress out of the entire booking process for you!
Unfortunately, anyone who will be traveling to Disney World in late January 2026 will not have access to the Disney Skyliner. The Skyliner will be temporarily closing from January 25th to January 31st, 2026. Its closure is due to refurbishment plans. So what does this mean for other transportation options?

The Skyliner is only accessible in certain parts of Disney World, as it doesn’t take you everywhere. The Skyliner is a connector between Hollywood Studios, EPCOT’s International Gateway entrance, and select Disney hotels! If you are looking to travel from Hollywood to EPCOT, or vice versa, you will need a different form of transportation.

The hotels on the Skyliner path include the Riviera, Caribbean Beach Resort, Art of Animation, and Pop Century. So, anyone staying at those select hotels and looking to travel via Skyliner might want to change their vacation dates or hotel. The same goes for resort hopping — anyone looking to travel between these resorts won’t be able to use the Skyliner.

Luckily, Disney World will be offering a bus service in replacement of the temporarily closed Skyliner. Disney doesn’t usually offer buses as transportation at locations where you can either use the Skyliner or Monorail to get between places. The only exceptions are weather, and in this case, temporary closures. We’re happy this is being offered, making getting around Disney easier.

This closure typically happens annually, but in 2025, Disney did NOT close the Skyliner for refurbishment. It looks like we’ll be back to our regularly scheduled programming in 2026!
We’re happy that Disney is offering an alternative for transportation at Skyliner locations. At least the temporary closure is only lasting a few days, barring any delays. Now that we have this information this early, you can plan your trip accordingly. Make sure to stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest Disney news!
