Flower and Garden Festival For anyone who loves the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival as much as I do, here's a tip: Make reservations for the Akershus Princess Breakfast in Norway and arrive 20 minutes or so before your scheduled reservation time. As with all "in park" breakfast reservations, you get to enter the park before it is open to anyone. While this is nice at any one of the parks, it is especially wonderful at Epcot during this time of year. You can stroll around and take some beautiful photographs of the "floral sculptures" undisturbed by passers-by. - Laurie Sloane

We brought a travel-sized MagnaDoodle that we found especially handy at the water parks, where we would have a base camp, but would often split up to do different things. We would write messages to each other with the time and place we could be found. It actually became a fun game, as we got into giving clues to the names of the slides and rides. Overall, it was just a simple and fun way to communicate when you didn't want to have your cell phone with you. - Molly from Oregon

We just got back from Disney World today... please let your readers know that "Heelys" (skate sneakers) are not permitted in any amusement park in Florida. We were stopped by a Disney employee who informed us that we could be fined up to $150 by the sheriff! - Barbara Friedman

For all WDW visitors from the UK -- try to find jet-setting friends who will bring you home US coins, quarters especially, because when you land at Orlando they're jolly useful for tolls. All Star Resorts - My husband, 4-year-old son and I just returned from a fantastic 10-day WDW trip and one of the best things we did was ship a small coffee pot with filters and coffee packets to our All-Star resort ahead of time since they do not provide coffee pots in those rooms. What a treat it was to just wake up and make our own personal pot of coffee each morning. The 4-cup pot at Walmart was only $19.99, and the filters/coffee were inexpensive. - Laureen EDITOR'S NOTE: The Family Suites at Art of Animation and All Star Music have coffee pots.

We tried to book a room for the first week of December. Not a single room was available at any Disney resort. The Disney representative suggested looking at a resort that was still on Disney property but not an actual Disney resort. She said the Buena Vista Palace had rooms available. They are located across from Disney Springs and offer bus service via Mears shuttles. I called them directly and because I'm a firefighter was able to get a greatly reduced rate that isn't offered at Disney resorts! (It's called the "government rate." I just had to show my firefighter ID when I checked in.) - Alexiss from MA

CHRISTMAS - If you will be in WDW during the Christmas holiday season, don't overlook the hotels. Go to one of the Epcot area hotels, and walk around the lake visiting each hotel's grounds and lobbies -- each one has unique decorations. Ride the monorail stopping at each hotel to see the decorations, especially the tree and gingerbread house in the Grand Floridian lobby. Take a boat from the Contemporary or Magic Kingdom to the Wilderness Lodge. - Cindy DeRosa

CHRISTMAS - My one tip would be for anyone who is thinking about going to the taping of the Christmas Parade -- DON'T, unless you want to totally waste a day of your vacation. They bring the first group in and don't make them move. The second group comes in and they are way in the back. I stood there from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. and was not in any film. I even wore my red Christmas party sweatshirt and Minnie Santa hat. It was certainly hot! If you don't want to stand around and get pushed around don't go. - Bonnie Lock

CHRISTMAS - On our last Christmas trip to WDW we decided that we wanted to give something to the Cast Members that have to work over the holidays to make our "magical" trips possible. We bought some of the small individually wrapped candy canes (there are about 40 canes in a box). We carried them with us and gave them to Cast Members who were nice, helpful or looked like they needed a little magic themselves. It was amazing to see the responses that we got from the Cast Members when my kids gave them the candy canes and said, "Merry Christmas." The Cast Members don't usually get anything back from the guests, especially at that time of year. It was nice to show our kids how much they could brighten someone's day with just a little gesture and kindness. We have decided that we are going to try to find some way to do that kind of thing on each of our trips. It added a lot to our holiday! - Brenda Holt

One way my mom and I got ready for our trip to Disney World was to make a list of every animated Disney movie (in order of when each came out) and watch a movie a day until the trip! It helps you remember the magic of the movies while you get ready to experience the magic of the parks! - Chelsea

This year I bought the travel BINGO cards at a store before we left for Disney World. I gave each of my children a card when we got in the car. The first round of BINGO was postage stamp, the next round was horizontal, etc. Each time one of the kids won, they would receive a Disney Dollar. The final round was a $10 Disney Dollar. Of course, no one wants to leave Disney World, so on the way home they played BINGO again. This time, while we were there, I had picked up a few pins, pens, an ornament, keychains, and a cup for the prizes. The grand prize was another $10 Disney Dollar to save for the next trip. - K. CHRISTMAS - One of my favorite things to do at Epcot during the Christmas season is watching (or hopefully participating in) the World Showcase Players rendition of the Dickens classic "A Christmas Carol." The players are always a hilarious respite from all the walking, but it just seems to me they are more into the performance during the holidays. Take 15 minutes off from your busy schedule and be entertained in the United Kingdom pavilion of the World Showcase. Who knows, you might be "Bob Scratchitt." - Joe Kobza

MNSSHP - We just got back from Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, and it was fabulous! But even if you aren't attending the party, find out what night the parties are going on and try to see the fireworks from the beach at the Polynesian. We did this for two nights when we weren't at the party, and I think it was even better from there because of all the perimeter fireworks! It's a great idea for the Christmas and Princess and Pirate parties too - Lori Jordan

CHRISTMAS - During the Christmas holidays, our family tradition is to spend part of an evening on the Fort Wilderness hayride. Cuddled up in blankets, your group sings Christmas carols while viewing the wonderful Christmas light displays and decorations of the guests staying in the cabins and campground. These displays rival any light or decoration displays you would see up north. It is definitely worth the small fee for the hayride. You can access Ft. Wilderness easily via bus from the Ticket and Transportation Center (TTC) or via boat from Magic Kingdom/Wilderness Lodge/Contemporary Resort. Wear warm clothes; some blankets are provided for public use. - Michelle Kocar
