Now, for those who may say my rating is unfair, please hear me out. I was able to snatch a Fastpass for this ride surprisingly during a Thanksgiving Break trip to WDW. I heard from many family members and YouTubers that this ride was "Like Soarin', but way better.", so I wanted to give it a try as Soarin' is one of my top 3 favorite rides at Disney World. The wait was only 50 minutes, which I was very surprised about knowing that this ride gets up to 3-4 hour waits in the standby line and sometimes waits in the Fastpass line can get lengthy. (For those who have younger children, the wait in the Fastpass line for this ride can get a little boring, as it isn't as interactive as the standby queue, so be prepared for some unruly children. The family behind us had a large group of children and they were getting a little crazy waiting in the line. They were throwing toys, pushing over guests around, and crawling on the ground. Yes, that happened, sadly.) When we went in for the preshow, I felt that it was too long. The room was a bit claustrophobic, so I didn't enjoy that part. After that was done, we were transferred to a room with a row of ride vehicles. I jumped on the vehicle and was so eager about what I was ready to experience. Before I talk about this ride, I do want to mention that I am normally not afraid of heights at all. When the first drop happened, I knew I made a mistake. I was terrified, and usually, I am not one to be afraid of heights as I love being able to see from a distance above the ground. There were some twists and turns in this ride, but those didn't affect me as much as those gigantic drops. Overall, the ride was very immersive (Maybe even too immersive), but I am not quite sure I want to ride this ride again. This ride might be a must ride for those who can handle it, but for those who have any problems with motion sickness, heights, or for those who even have a slight fear of falling, this definitely isn't the ride for you. Also, I would not say that this ride is better than Soarin'. Although Soarin' isn't as technically advanced as Flight of Passage, I feel that this starring Epcot attraction has so much charm and nostalgia than FOP that it just can't be beaten. Sadly, I wouldn't recommend this ride for some people, but if you think that you can do it, it's worth at least one ride.

Pros:

It was very immersive! The smells, the breathing of the banshee, and the 3D scenes were amazing. (It might be too immersive for some people.) It's a great ride for the thrill-seekers in your group.

Cons:

This ride is NOT for people who are prone to motion sickness or for people who have a fear of heights(People tend to leave the height factor out). The Pre-show was forgettable and not for those who might have claustrophobia, in my honest opinion. I would not wait in this ride line for more than 50 minutes as it was a little short for the wait.

I can handle a basic roller coaster now (no cork screws), but just one and then I need a 10 minute break. I can't take anything that spins. I read up on the reviews before deciding to try this and checked out a few recordings of the ride. People were saying that if you like Soarin', you'll be fine on this. I love Soarin' and decided to go ahead and try Flight of Passage.

I take 1 motion sickness pill before bed the night before and then 1 an hour before I'm about to experience something that might cause it (per advice of a pharmacist - which seems to work for me). Well, I forgot to bring the motion sickness pills to the park with me so only had the 1 pill in me. The whole way thru the FP line there were signs, but I thought "Don't they have these signs on Soarin'?" and it doesn't bother me at all (even without motion sickness pills). So I continued. Boy did I regret it!!!

This ride starts out okay and is pretty cool. Then it picks up a little speed and does some twisting/jerking and comes to a stop. It was getting gradually worse, so I closed my eyes and just tried to relax. When It stopped, I was glad and was ready to get out, but saw we were just pausing. Then the thing takes off and it isn't just a visual thing. I felt like a rag doll in a washing machine that went bonkers. Horrible!!! I kept thinking, just let me get thru the ride without getting sick. Thankfully I didn't eat for many hours prior to boarding this thing. The ride stopped and I was not sure how I felt. That was the worst experience I've had with a ride in years (because I learned not to bother with things I knew I couldn't handle anymore... but the reviews kept comparing this to Soarin').

Next, I felt like I could hardly walk out of there and the walk goes on forever before you get outside. I planned on going to the nearest restroom and getting a wet paper towel for my neck/head and hanging out for awhile, but no restrooms anywhere nearby. (I cannot put words for that on this site.)

So, yes they did have warnings after I got my fastpass 60 days ahead and had this in my plans and didn't want to not try it after all that and then to not be able to get another good FP in exchange, but I thought the ride was horrible and I guess there are different types of motion sickness out there. If you can handle being tossed and turned and jerked every which way at rapid speeds, go for it (I guess). The only reason I'm glad the ride is in the park is that it takes the crowd to a place I won't be.

I didn't actually get sick, just felt awful. And here is a funny thing. I didn't feel good on any bus ride for the next 3 days of my stay AND I couldn't stand going on the pre-school Nemo ride at EPCOT the next day!!!

Pros:

It might be nice to see the view while soaring thru, but I had to close my eyes after maybe a half minute. If you're sure you won't get sick, it's probably a good ride.

Cons:

Can make you sick, it's a long walk out and there are no restrooms nearby.

Excellent ride. Everything about this ride I love. The line theming, the ride, the seats, the fact your riding on a banshee, everything about it is great except the long lines. Be sure to get an individual lighting lane for this one. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS IS A MUST RIDE.

Pros:

Everything.

Cons:

The long waits.

Disney has so many great rides but this one remains my favorite. I recall the first time me and my dad rode it we got off and he said "wow, I almost want to cry for how beautiful that was." I've heard many people say the same... it's not some thrill ride, this one sticks with you emotionally in a way that no other ride has done for me. Absolutely worth the long wait times, and besides, the queue itself is an experience.

Pros:

Immersive experience, the queue line is themed incredibly, even fearful riders would enjoy it.

Cons:

not good for all body types

I live by Cedar Point and go on a lot of rides and coasters yearly, and this is definitely the best ride I've ever been on. When I got off it for the first time, my jaw remained dropped for about 30 seconds. I'm happy to keep the mystery regarding the tech of how they actually do it. We rode once after waiting in the regular line, and once after waiting 10 minutes through Lightning Lanes. A good investment, you save a couple hours for around $14. Flight of Passage really took me on a journey. I'd go back to Animal Kingdom just for this ride.

Pros:

Intense, feels real, jaw-dropping landscapes

Cons:

Long wait, wish ride were longer

It was one of the best experiences of my life. I only went on once but those 4 minutes were great. I went with my parents, but only my dad went on. My mom (who is a bit on the wider side) couldn’t get on because they couldn’t lock it in. Another person outside had the same problem. I hope in the future they can make it more ajustable for people with certain body types.

Pros:

It’s beautiful and I think it is different every time. I can see why the lines are usually 3 hours.

Cons:

It feels too short, I ended up wanting more. People on the wider side can’t get on, that happened with my mom. Lines are long, but that isn’t disneys fault.

Such a great ride! The immersive experience leaves you awed by the art and 3d effect put into it as it feels as you are actually in the seat. 10/10 Best ride in the WHOLE world this is a must-do. The only thing bad is the wait time cause it can get HIGH so come during the morning. Still, 100% worth it... no 1000% worth it.

Pros:

Incredible Ride, Immersive Feels Real

Cons:

None
