I have May 26th circled in my calendar because that’s when Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets opens in Hollywood Studios in Disney World. While I cried for the closure of Muppet*Vision 3D, the Muppets are moving right along and getting their own roller coaster (sorry Aerosmith!).
Disney just gave us a sneak peek behind the scenes of the queue for the attraction, and there are SO many hidden details to discover.
On a YouTube video, Disney shared a new look at the queue and loading area for the ride. From the very first scene, there were going to be SO many details to uncover.
For example, this Gonzo statue was in the original Muppet movie! It was on top of his plumbing van, and it fell off, and an arm broke off, but Gonzo brought it back and kept it. Glad he’s letting us borrow it for the ride!
The yellow plane in the back was part of Muppet*Vision. It carried “The Great Gonzo” sign behind it! The sign is also in the queue, but it’s hanging on a clothesline.
This crate said “The Great Gonzo Weird Stuff.” It reminds us of the boxes in the preshow room in Muppet*Vision 3D. The front of the room was stacked with different crates of props, and Gonzo seems to have brought them all over.
There are plenty of rubber chickens, of course. The Imagineer leading us through the video also said he never expected to be working with so many feathers on the project.
Uh, is that Gonzo’s hat from The Muppets Christmas Carol?? Yeah, that’s kinda the coolest thing ever.
