FINALLY! We've Been Waiting for This HUGE Change in Disney's Hollywood Studios

We’ve got huge news out of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, more specifically, the new Walt Disney Studios section coming to where the Animation Courtyard formerly stood.

We’re so looking forward to this new section of the park opening this summer. Not only will it be so fun to explore what the new area looks like and how its refresh has improved the area, but there are also SO many new experiences we’ll all be able to enjoy. One of the design aspects we’ve been looking forward to most is the Sorcerer Mickey hat coming to the land, and now, it’s HERE!

Disney Parks has shared a photo on their X account (formerly known as Twitter) of Disney Imagineers in front of the new Sorcerer Mickey hat in the Walt Disney Studios section of the park! We headed straight to the parks to see it ourselves, and sure enough, it’s stunning.

The Sorcerer Hat is in front of the former Star Wars Launch Bay building, which will soon become The Magic of Disney Animation, which is expected to open in late summer. Stepping inside the reimagining space, you’ll find that the animators have all stepped away, and the characters have come to life. The spot is inspired by Disney’s iconic short “Once Upon A Studio,” and it’ll be a spot where kids and adults can laugh, draw, dream, and explore new animated experiences.

We’re so happy the iconic Sorcerer Hat is finally coming back to this park after it went away in 2015. It was built in 2001 as part of the 100 Years of Magic Celebration, and was an icon many people associated with the park, even after its removal. While this new version isn’t exactly the same, it still looks stunning, and reminds us of those Disney offices in Burbank, California, that have the iconic hat!

Also coming to this new area is the Drawn to Wonderland playground, an “Off the Page” meet and greet area, Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! , as well as a gorgeously redesigned outdoor courtyard where you may find characters roaming to say hello!
