Hollywood Studios has been undergoing quite the refurbishment!
Muppets Courtyard is currently in the process of being transformed into the new Monsters, Inc. Land, and more recently, Disney announced that Animation Courtyard would be getting a massive overhaul with new experiences. Now, we finally know when some of those new offerings will be open!
Disney has just announced that Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! and “The Walt Disney Studios” outdoor courtyard will open on May 26th.
In the new show inspired by the Disney Jr. series Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+, Mickey and Minnie are inviting everyone to a party, but their guests haven’t arrived yet! We’ll go on an adventure to find Goofy, Daisy, and Pluto.
Then in late summer, The Magic of Disney Animation will open.
“The Magic of Disney Animation” is inspired by Disney’s iconic short “Once Upon A Studio,” and it’ll be a spot where kids and adults can laugh, draw, dream, and explore new animated experiences. This will be taking the place of Star Wars: Launch Bay, and the story in this newly reimagined space begins as the animators have temporarily stepped away, but the building comes alive as the characters come out to play!
The Magic of Disney Animation includes the “Drawn to Wonderland” playground, entirely inspired by the original “Alice in Wonderland” concept art. This will be a playground filled with an oversized flower garden with musical instruments, a Mad Tea Party playset, and a Tulgey Wood exploration area.
Also inside The Magic of Disney Animation are character meet and greets at the “Off the Page” area…
…and a new animation class featuring an Olaf animatronic called “Olaf Draws!”
The whole area will take inspiration from the Walt Disney Animation Building in Burbank, California, including the iconic Sorcerer Mickey hat on top of the building!
The new land will be called “The Walt Disney Studios” instead of Animation Courtyard. “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” will continue to play in the newly reimagined Studio Theater, and a fresh Disney Jr. show will be added to the other stage in the area.

I’m not keen on the idea that Olaf animatronic will be doing the animation drawings. On our last visit we did the animation drawings in AK and afterwards I chatted with the animator and got advice for my daughter who is studying animation. I doubt you can have a personal conversation with a robot.
They are going to change the name of the whole park like in Paris.
