Prost! The AllEars team has been to Germany (the pavilion in EPCOT at least), and we’re sharing what you should save your money on here!

The Germany pavilion in EPCOT is a charming celebration of German culture, making it a favorite stop for Disney guests. We love exploring the shops filled with handcrafted ornaments, cuckoo clocks, and delicious treats, especially the fresh caramel creations. But there are some things we just will not buy again, and for good reason!
1. The Driest Pretzel Ever
Germany is famous for pretzels, but the jumbo one in EPCOT’s Germany Pavilion can be shockingly dry depending on when you grab it. It looks tempting — golden, oversized, and perfect for a photo. But it’s often more of a chew workout than a snack.

Instead, skip the Sahara-level dryness and go straight for the Pretzel Bread Pudding at Sommerfest. It’s warm, soft, buttery, and comes drenched in a sweet vanilla sauce that fixes every craving the pretzel should have satisfied.

2. A Ton of Werther’s Caramel Treats in 95-Degree Weather
We love Karamell-Küche as much as anyone, but Florida heat plus sticky caramel means instant regret. If you load up on bags of caramel popcorn or chocolate-dipped everything, you’ll quickly discover that 95-degree weather turns those goodies into a molten caramel blob before you’ve even reached Italy.

Instead of buying a whole stash, grab one (or two!) of our go-to picks to enjoy fresh: the Caramel Butter Bar or the seasonal Pumpkin Butter Bar, which is rich and gooey without being overwhelming, and the Gingerbread Cookie Sandwich. If the weather is cooler, then you won’t need to stress about the treats melting and can fill up your bag with them for later!

3. A Crystal Figurine You’ll Instantly Regret Carrying Around All Day
The crystal shop, Glaskunst, in Germany, is full of stunning figurines and delicate collectibles, but impulse-buying one at 11 AM means you’ll be babysitting a fragile, expensive, anxiety-inducing box for the rest of your World Showcase journey. Between rides, character meet-and-greets, and juggling snacks, it’s only a matter of time before you wish you’d said no.

If you fall in love with something, go for it, but have Disney ship it to your home so you can enjoy the rest of your day hands-free (and stress-free!). Just ask the Cast Member at checkout if they can ship it. They will have you fill out paperwork, and for a fee, Disney will ship the item home to you, so that’s one less thing you have to stress over while on vacation!

The Germany pavilion has so much to offer, and we love spending our EPCOT day here! For more Disney World tips, follow us at AllEars.net.
