We’re jealous about a lot of the offerings over in international Disney parks, but something we REALLY wish we could steal from Disneyland Paris and bring over to the United States parks are all the drone shows!

We’ve had a few drone shows over in Disney World, but they’re pretty rare, and we’re always anxiously awaiting the next one. However, Disneyland Paris appears to be taking things to the next level with their new nighttime show debuting in 2026. From what it sounds like, it sounds like it’ll be a show people will never forget!
On March 19th, 2026, Cascade of Lights will debut on Adventure Bay in Walt Disney Studios Park (soon to be called Disney Adventure World), and the in depth look Disney is giving us has us VERY excited. Currently, the Disneyland Paris team is working on testing the perfect place for the impressive structure that will be located in the center of the lake each night for the show. It’ll house key components of the show, such as fountains, lights, projectors, and pyrotechnics. The structure will consist of five different elements — a 14 m² central platform that is then connected to four barges whose extending arms form an almost circular shape.

However, it’ll all be moved in complete silence. Fully electric pusher boats will move the various components from the backstage marina each day, which means the drivers have received specific training and instruction on how to maneuver the boats, especially around things like the iconic swing bridge from World of Frozen. To complete the look, the show will use 379 aerial and aquatic drones.

These new drones were created in partnership with Dronisos, and these aerial drones are more resistant to wind and rain, as well as aquatic drones, which are nicknamed ‘ducks.’ Ben Spalding, the producer of the show, said, “The water acts like a mirror that multiplies all our light sources. Our aquatic drones light up the surface of the lake, combined with low-angled lights all around the edges of the lake. And then there are the fountains, each with its own light sources, and the various pyrotechnic effects.” In fact, the show was previewed in 3D, so that each member of the team could develop their own plan with a fully detailed model of the park. 24 technicians will be present in the park each night for every show, which is double the normal amount.

But what is this show about? Well, Inspiration has become its own character in the show, similar to Peter Pan’s Shadow. It also serves as the link between the audience and the story being shown, which will include characters like Mulan, Moana, Hercules, Judy Hopps, the Avengers, and Carl Fredriksen, as well as some of the moments that inspired them to take on the journeys we see in their films. When talking about the show’s characters and concept, Director Susan Plyer said, “Each and every one of them embodies an emotion that can strike a chord with every guest. They are an endless source of inspiration in our lives, whether in helping others, supporting family, or finding the courage to face daily challenges.” The music for the show was written by Mark Hammond, produced by Jonathan Barr, and then recorded at the legendary Abbey Road studios in London by a 90-piece orchestra. We also know we’ll be able to hear an all-new original song, “We Can Be Heroes.”

Additionally, no matter where you are in the park, you’ll be able to get a great view of the show, as it’s been designed to have a 360 degree view. This is partly due to the design of the show itself, as well as the 240-plus floodlights and light points directed at the lake and the sound setup throughout Adventure Bay. Disney also paid close attention to the environmental impact of this show, choosing to minimize its effect by reducing the carbon footprint, employing different fish species in the lake’s filtration system, and using residue-free materials in fireworks and pyrotechnics.
Disneyland Paris has given us TONS of new and exciting news over the past few weeks, including the opening date for World of Frozen, a look at the new Tangled attraction on the way, and so much more.
